Adventures in Windows
People who know me, know I'm a Mac guy, but, I do have a couple Windows machines for specific software needs. Also, my DAs (Domestic Associate) son is living in Hawaii now and we have his Windows formatted iPod and music collection. I'm in the process of ripping all his CDs to iTunes on the Windows box so we can load his iPod and get him his music collection. It should be an easy task, but, the machine isn't cooperating that well. First, MusicMatch Jukebox would launch everytime I put in a CD even though I had already specified iTunes as the default application. I had to force quit it to get rid of it and then, after 6 or 7 disks, it quit responding even to the force quit and hung the machine. So, I checked for an updated version and once I found it online, I decided I could safely just dump MMJB completely and I uninstalled it. One would think that would do it, but, I'm still having problems reading some individual tracks. I suppose that isn't related really, but, it's just another miinor annoyance with my nonpreferred OS. Mosty likely, it's just a cheap drive in a cheap box.
